ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS


1. New Parent Services:  Listed at area hospitals as a Down syndrome resource in Northeast Ohio so that we may provide information packets,  direction to National Down Syndrome Society assistance, and emotional support to new and expectant parents

2. Play Dates:  To expose kids with Ds to art, music, sports, theater, and education while enabling them to have fun and interact with typical children.

3. Kent State Trumbull Theater:  Encourage appreciation of theater by attending Summer Stock Children's productions, meeting and interacting with the performers, and exploring behind-the-scenes operations.

4. Lana Eisenbraun Scholarship Fund:  To provide financial means for those we serve to take enrichment classes from programs offered by outside sources.

5. Mom's Night Out:  A monthly dinner gathering just for moms to relax and enjoy a little down time. 

About Us The UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation is a non-profit Section 501(c)(3) charity funded by contributions from UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare and its employees, as well as the generosity of individuals and corporations.
Purpose
Children who have medical needs are sometimes not insured comprehensively to provide coverage for all of their medical treatments. There are few places for families who have gaps in their commercial health benefit plan coverage to turn to for funding medically necessary services for their children. Children may go without necessary treatment, or, they receive the care and families assume a large amount of debt. The Foundation understands these needs and is willing to help fill this void.
Philosophy
The Foundation embraces and supports the concept of facilitating access to health-related services that have the potential to significantly enhance either the clinical condition or the quality of life of the child and that are not fully covered by the available commercial health benefit plan. The Foundation provides financial assistance toward the family's share of the cost of medical services.
